Redondo Union High School: Resident Evil and Drug Prevention Dovetail!

For the last several years, I have been invited to Redondo Union High School to speak for the students on Career Day. During my presentations, I have spoken about my former career as an actress and how my acting skills made it possible for me to write A Night in Jail. Over the years, and in a surprising twist of fate, A Night In Jail (the short film) introduced me to fans of a video game I was in over 20 years ago. You see, before my departure from acting, I was the voice of a well-known video game character, Jill Valentine, from the series Resident Evil (2002) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0302327/. Because the short film was listed online, a member of a fan site called Crimson-Head https://www.crimson-head.com/ saw a posting of it. The fan recognized my maiden name and reached out to me, wondering if I was the voice from 2002. Confused, I told him I was. He let me know that, as one of the voices of this iconic character, people wanted to speak with me. I had no idea. Ultimately, the fan site connected me with a community of Resident Evil fans from around the world. It’s been a thrill and such an honor for me to meet so many enthusiasts. It has also been amazing for me to see how A Night in Jail has brought Resident Evil back into my life. I discovered that Jill Valentine and I share something in common: we both fight back against companies that are harming humans with drugs. 

The organizer of Career Day, Mr. Gregory Frank, liked my slides and invited me to come to speak to his English as a Second Language class. May of 2026 was the second year I’ve had the great pleasure to talk with his students. Mr. Frank* and one of his students wrote me two of the nicest letters I’ve ever received.
